Nothing in real life is ever better than it exists in your mind. You idealize and romanticize and dream impossible dreams because you can. My dream has been to start my own dental practice. I wanted a fresh start to do things the way that I wanted them done. I knew that starting my own practice would be a slog; it is far easier to purchase an existing practice from a retiring dentist. This is what most of my classmates from dental school did. It is the path of least resistance for a young dentist but this dream of building a new practice had taken up residence in my head.

Logically, I knew that it would be a battle to build up a patient base since I was starting from scratch. But in the back of my head, I allowed myself to dream of my practice getting off to great start and having a full schedule of patients right off the bat.  I didn’t really believe this though and I made plans for filling some of the down time that I anticipated between patients in the first few months. I am in my fourth week of seeing patients at Mission Hills Family Dental and this first month has exceeded my wildest dreams. It has been an amazing first month and I am so glad that I chose to start my practice in San Marcos.

I’d like to thank all of our new patients for taking a chance on a new practice as well as welcome any future patients that are reading this. I am excited to be your family dentist in the years ahead. Also, I can’t wait to become a part of the San Marcos community. Everyone has been so welcoming to us this first month that I am sure that I am going to love it here.
